Shady Friday, #8

Hello Bookworms!
Alright, so today I decided to share one of my writing techniques. This doesn't help you complete stories that you are writing, however this does help you come up with ideas for new stories. Under Microsoft word there is the option to change the fonts to one of several different options. This includes styles like Lucinda, Papyrus, or Algerian.  This story opener was developed after finding a font called "Xi Rod". The style is reminiscent of the future, and robots, so I came up with this story opener. Enjoy!

In the year of 2017 a great plague devastated half of the planet known as earth. We came from across the stars to help, and yet they feared us. Their numbers were fewer than 1 million people, and therefore they could not use their insanity to stop us. We took over their governments to aid them until they recovered, and therefore became rulers of earth until they recovered from the plague known as, ‘peace’.

As Ryan read the old manuscript, he shuddered. “Right,” He breathed out at last, “Time to show this to the council.”

Alright, so I started the book about a year ago, it's called "Year 3000". Basically World War Three happens, most of the planet destroys itself, and so they establish a world wide peace. But because the world has never before seen world wide peace, an alien race of robots thinks that it is a disease, and that the planet is incapable of governing itself while ill. Therefore the aliens take over the planet until they are cured of this disease. 1000 years later, there is a rebellion brewing against the aliens, who have forgotten why they invaded in the first place. (Yes, the robot aliens are based off of the Cyber men from Doctor Who.)
So, what do you all think? Is there a book you would like me to talk about? Please comment, or follow! I will be posting about some of my ways around writers block soon, so please keep looking for that! Habent sua fata libelli!
P.S. sorry that this post isn't actually on Friday.
